Learn more about John Capper
Over 30 years of leading in the boardroom and doubling profits
John Capper has enjoyed a long career in finance and business management.
With a background in accountancy, John rose through the industry to lead 450 staff, across 12 offices, in RSM Bentley Jennison’s Audit, Tax and Advisory Services Division.
Following the sale of Bentley Jennison, John founded John Capper and Co. in 2010. The business focuses on all aspects of finance and business management, working with ambitious companies which are looking for growth.
John is part time Executive Director at EGIAN, the European Group of International Accounting Networks and Associations.
The European Commission and Accountancy Europe have recognized EGIAN as the body that represents mid-tier International Accounting Networks and Associations within the European Union.
As Executive Director, John promotes EGIAN and encourages members to develop opinions and policy papers for use by the members and key audiences such as European Institutions (EC, EP, Council).
EGIAN presents views and opinions on the main regulatory and policy issues which are most likely to have an impact on the members and the accountancy profession.
John is a much sought after business mentor, working with the Let’s Do Mentoring team at the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce to encourage entrepreneurs and business owners.
He was also the founding President of the Staffordshire Moorlands Chamber of Commerce, successfully working to set up a business group which is well used by companies in the towns of Leek, Biddulph, Cheadle and the outlying rural villages.
Outside of work, John is a leading light in the Scouting movement and is currently the Treasurer for its local International Activity Centre at Kibblestone near Stone.
He is also very keen on motor sport, regularly visiting Le Mans for the 24-hour race and building his own Caterham Super Seven kit car.
I began to work with John Capper around two years ago. I’d previously had a business coach, who had retired, and knew the great value that a skilled outside eye can add to a business.
John immediately exceeded my expectations. The 2020 Covid-19 pandemic has hit the economy of the UK, but with John’s support, we’ve been able to keep SAS Water on an even keel and on track for future growth.
